workchapters is a new hybrid legal/HR tech start-up (founded in Melbourne, Australia) focused on tech-enabled and people-powered employment law and HR solutions for Australian businesses and was born out of a collective vision to make employment relations and HR/people solutions truly accessible to businesses, all on the one easy-to-use platform.

workchapters was co-founded by Yvonne Schmaedeke and Kirsty Mastores in Spring 2021 and the business was established almost entirely virtually (whilst both working and homeschooling…in the middle of a global pandemic and endless lockdowns)! Yvonne and Kirsty are qualified Australian lawyers and collectively hold over 35 years of legal and HR/people experience, having worked across the European, Asia and Australian markets.

workchapters aims to provide a comprehensive suite of fixed price self-service, tech-enabled and people-fuelled solutions to suit a wide range of people matters businesses routinely face in Australia. Customers will be able to select the service line that best fits their business needs and their own individual employment law/HR capabilities and understanding. The ultimate goal is to enable the business to effectively navigate their way through everything from onboarding to offboarding... and the inevitable people challenges (or work ‘chapters’ as we like to refer to them) that flow at all stages.
