Nici Henningsen | Senior HR/ER Consultant

Nici is a communications and HR professional with over 20 years of experience fostering effective, people-centred cultures in both in-house and consultancy roles.  

As a communications professional, Nici has a strong background in internal communications, strategy development, and relationship-building. Spending 14 years with a large Australian advertising agency, Nici honed her communication and employee-relations skills to become Senior Account Director before eventually moving on to head up the People and Culture Function. Her diverse portfolio of clients covers many industries including marketing, recreation, and retail, overseeing daily operations and brand strategies while managing internal and external relationships with staff, clients, and stakeholders.  

Nici is passionate about building inclusive environments where talent is nurtured, diverse perspectives are celebrated, and strategic goals are aligned to deliver exceptional results. She has experience in a broad range of HR and Employee Relations matters including recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, employee contracts, policies, learning and development, and more. Highlights of her career include managing the diversity, equity and inclusion strategy for an Australian/New Zealand group of advertising agencies, as well as developing and implementing a new learning and development strategy including managing the group’s graduate program and online learning initiatives.  

Nici is a proud mum and auntie based in Melbourne, Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Business, Marketing from Monash University (Melbourne) and a Bachelor of Arts from Flinders University (Adelaide). She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), as well as completing a number of professional development courses in coaching, mental health first aid, cultural competency and gender equality.
